Household Cavalry Pageant, 12 June 2007
Nadia and I went down to London on the evening of 12 June 2007 to see an event at Horse Guards Parade.
The Household Cavalry staged an Pageant, in aid of the Household Cavalry Museum Appeal, to mark the opening of the Household Cavalry Museum by Her Majesty The Queen.
The Pageant included an inspection of The Queen's Life Guard by The Queen and a number of live historical re-enactments including:
- the Coronation Procession of King Charles II
- a cavalry charge at Waterloo
- the liberation of Brussels
- the Mounted Bands of The Life Guards & The Blues and Royals.
The event concluded with more than 200 horses and a range of old and new military vehicles performing ceremonial and cavalry drills not seen since 1939.
