Loch Lomond :: Scotland 2006
The journey north started at 03:10 as we wanted to be well clear of Manchester etc before the madness of rush-hour started. It was a great move, although at the time we weren't sure, as we were eating breakfast at the services at Gretna Green well before 09:00.
After a rest in Gretna we headed up past Glasgow and into Balloch on the edge of Loch Lomond to start the holiday for real. After a trip on the Loch and some lunch we headed off to Balloch Castle and enjoyed an hour in the sun, and rain, resting and enjoying the view.
